There are no other clubs in La Liga who can match Atletico Madrid about the diversity of players. Of the 25 core players Los Rojiblancos (Atletico Madrid nickname), there are 19 foreign players who come from 11 different countries.

As reported by Marca, in the history of the Spanish League’s first division, Atletico Madrid became the only team with the largest number of foreign players compared to other teams. It is known that as many as 213 foreign players have played for Atletico. Followed by Espanyol who has 193 foreign players.

Jan Oblak, Stefan Savic, Sime Vrsaljko, Lucas Hernandez, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, Antoine Griezmann and Kevin Gameiro are the names of some of the foreign players belonging to the Spanish capital club.

Players like Axel Werner, Jose Maria Gimenez, Matias Kranevitter, Angel Correa, Rafael Santos Borre or Emiliano Velazquez finally had the chance to taste playing in European competition thanks to joining Atletico Madrid

Meanwhile, other rows of players such as Diego Godin (Uruguay), Felipe Luis (Brazil), Augusto Fernandez (Argentina) and Nico Gaitan (Argentina) have tried playing in continental Europe before finally purchased by Los Colchoneros.
